A Close Look at the Ab Lounge
I was up late the other night, and I saw an infomercial that I have probably seen a hundred times if I’d seen it once. It is for the ab lounge, a contraption that is created specifically to help you to get washboard abdominals and to tone and trim this area of your body. It is a very interesting looking machine, and to tell you the truth, I had often wondered if it worked or not. That is why I ended up purchasing one and putting it through the paces. Here is exactly what I discovered and something that you’re probably going to find rather interesting.

First of all, I have to say that the ab lounger really did work out my midsection and after using it for a couple of days, I began to really feel my stomach tightening up. It’s amazing how quickly it began to work and I found it to be much more effective than doing simple situps or crunches. The reason why this is the case is because it helped me to have a greater range of motion which stretched my abdominal muscles out before it went back into the crunch position. By using my body weight in order to provide the resistance, it really gave me an overall workout that left me sweating.
The downside to the ab lounge is the fact that it is really not going to help you to get those washboard adds that you’re looking for. Is it going to strengthen your abdominal muscles? Absolutely, and it will help you to feel better because of having strong abs. Is it going to flatten your stomach? The answer to that one is a little bit more difficult.
The reason why I say that is because it really doesn’t matter how much you work out the abdominals, you’re not going to see the washboard abs that you’re looking for as a result of using an ab lounge or any other contraption. This is because most of us have a layer of fat that is covering over the abdominal region and keeping it from showing through. What can we do to lose that stomach fat?
Actually, it is a simple combination of diet and exercise but you need to make sure that you are doing both in the proper way. As far as diet is concerned, you want to make sure that you are eating as much healthy food as you possibly can which would consist of plenty of raw fruits and vegetables.
The exercise portion of what is necessary to really burn the fat is that you need to work out the larger muscles of your body in order to put on some more lean muscle mass. This muscle mass is going to burn calories consistently and keep your metabolism running smoothly and quickly all day long. It’s a 1-2 punch that is going to allow the abdominal muscles to show through in if your have been working them using the ab lounge, they will look fantastic when they do show. I’m afraid that the Ab Lounge is, like the Ab Belt, not nearly as effective as intensive training in the gym.
