The abdominal chair is a recent addition to the fitness and diet industry. Most of us have seen contraptions similar to this on late night TV or perhaps advertisements in magazines that line the counters at the grocery store. They always show people that are smiling and happy, using the abdominal chair and seemingly having the time of their life while they shed pounds. The reality of it is, these machines don’t really work as they are supposed to work and although they can help to a certain extent, they are flawed in many ways.

The first thing that is absolutely necessary is that you must drop your body fat down into the single digits, which is a difficult thing for anybody to do. This takes years of work, in some cases, and it is certainly not something that you’re going to see happen overnight. The good news is, if you are consistent with your dieting efforts, you will begin to see results rather quickly and continue to see more results over the course of time.

The other factor in seeing sixpack abs is that you’re going to have to work your abdominals in order to build up the muscles in that region. This can be done in a number of different ways and although the abdominal chair may help to a certain extent in building up your ab muscles, there are exercises which will do much better in the long run. Even just regular crunches, or assisted crunches with a $10 piece of exercise equipment is going to do much more for you than the average abdominal chair that you buy off the television.

I’m not necessarily telling you that you should not try the abdominal chair, because many people have used it with a certain amount of success. What I am telling you, however, is don’t believe everything that you see on TV and don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work for you, exactly as it is supposed to. Although it can help you to turn your abdominal region to a certain extent, use it along with other exercises in order to maximize your results.
