A simple look at the abs diet website is going to show you that it makes some pretty impressive promises. One of the first that I saw is the fact that it promises that you’re going to lose up to 12 pounds of body fat in the first two weeks. Although you may lose 12 pounds in two weeks, it is virtually impossible for you to lose 6 pounds of body fat every week. The reason why this is the case, is because that would require you to be in a calorie deficit of almost 3000 calories every single day. Most of us do not even burn that many calories off a day, so this is not necessarily a true statement.
There are some things that really work with the abs diet, however, and are well worth you looking into. For example, the overall eating plan and exercise that is done with the abs diet can help you to get in shape and can make a difference in the way that you look during the course of the six weeks. The problem is, it is not necessarily something that everybody is going to be able to stick with for the long term so that they never gain the weight back. It is an excellent jumping off point, but you’re eventually going to be faced with a decision of whether you stick with a healthy diet for the long run, or if you go back to eating in your regular, comfortable way.
Instead of doing the abs diet or any other type of fad diet that may be out there, it would be a better idea if you simply figure out how many calories you burn every day and then lower your intake below that number. Even if you lower it by 500 calories underneath your daily calorie usage, you are still going to lose a pound of body fat every week. Lower it by 1000 calories, and you will lose 2 pounds a week consistently.
It would also help if you did regular exercise as well, building up the muscles in your body so that you have more lean muscle mass. This muscle mass is going to help you to a burn additional calories and it will make you look and feel great. That is the way that you lose weight consistently and keep it off for the rest of your life.
